Crews working to restore supply to customers in Tullohea and Lissava

Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section

Uisce Éireann crews are continuing with works to restore supply to customers in Tullohea, following an interruption at the local Water Treatment Plant which is reducing the amount of treated water being supplied to homes and businesses.

Crews worked through the night to resolve the issue; however, water supply will not be restored until later today when the works are completed.

Alternative water supplies are available at Ninemilehouse and Grangemockler Church.

Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Separately Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to customers in Lissava following an operational issue at the local Water Treatment Plant. Crews are on site working to restore normal operation of the Water Treatment Plant.

The areas impacted include Lissava, parts of Cahir and the surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary.

Supply is expected to be restored at 4pm today.

Customers supplied by both Water Treatment Plants are being encouraged to reduce their usage where possible to help maintain supply, allow treated water reservoirs and the network to recharge, and minimise the impact on homes and businesses while restoration efforts are ongoing.

As a result of the reduced supply, some customers may experience lower pressure or interrupted water supply, particularly those at the end of the network or on higher ground. Simple steps taken at home, in the garden and at work can collectively make a real difference in protecting supply during this time.

Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of these unplanned interruptions to supply. We are asking customers to be mindful of their usage to help maintain supply and allow treated water reservoirs and the network to recover. Even small reductions in use, when taken across communities, can make a meaningful difference while we work to restore normal supply.”
