Restoration efforts ongoing as works to resolve Butlerstown supply issues

Restoration works are continuing in Butlerstown today as Uisce Éireann crews work to fully resolve supply issues following Wednesday’s burst in Tramore. Supply has returned for most customers, and crews are carrying out ongoing testing to push out remaining airlocks and restore.

Our crews have remained on the ground over the past two days to investigate these issues and have been working to bleed further air from the network. This process is still ongoing and has taken longer than anticipated to fully clear. While supply has returned for the majority of customers, a number of households continue to experience low pressure or intermittent supply. We want to assure affected customers that we are doing everything possible to resolve the situation. Testing is ongoing across the network to help push out remaining airlocks and restore normal supply to all properties.

To support customers, an alternative water supply in the form of a tanker is in place across from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Butlerstown. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure. Uisce Éireann makes every effort to ensure that the alternative drinking water supply provided, including the tanker/bowser and dispensing tap, are adequately disinfected.
