Supply disruption affecting customers served by the Na Rosann Regional Supply

Uisce Eireann is advising customers served by the Na Rosann Regional Water Supply in West Donegal of disruptions to their supply this morning.

Customers in Croithlí, Loch an Iúir, Anagaire, An Mullach Dubh, Rann na Feirste, An Charraig Fhinn and surrounding areas may be experiencing water outages or other supply disruptions this morning.

The disruption was caused by a power interruption at An Croithlí Water Treatment Plant last night, caused by severe weather. Water treatment processes were interrupted by the power outage and as a result, levels of treated water in the plant’s reservoir have dropped to low levels this morning.

The plant is now back online and it is estimated that full supply will have returned to all customers impacted by this outage by 2pm this afternoon (Friday).

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann thanked affected residents and businesses owners for their patience while the network is given time to recharge.

“The heavy rain and lightning in the area last night caused an interruption to the treatment processes at the plant,” said Damien. “We understand the frustration of an unplanned outage, particular in such warm weather conditions, and we thank our customers for their patience while we work to restore supply.”
