Supply disruption in Kiltimagh

Uisce Eireann is advising customers served by the Kiltimagh Water Supply of disruptions to their supply this morning.

Customers in Bohola Road, Carrick, Balla Road, Knock Road, Cuiltrasna, Kiltimagh and surrounding areas may be experiencing water outages or other supply disruptions this morning. 

The disruption was caused by damage at the Kiltimagh Water Treatment Plant last night, caused by severe weather. Water treatment processes were interrupted and as a result, levels of treated water in the plant’s reservoir have dropped to low levels this morning.

Repairs are ongoing and it is estimated that full supply will have returned to all customers impacted by this outage by 10pm tonight.

Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann thanked affected residents and businesses owners for their patience while the network is given time to recharge.

“The heavy rain and lightning in the area last night caused an interruption to the treatment processes at the plant,” said Colette. “We understand the frustration of an unplanned outage, particular in such warm weather conditions, and we thank our customers for their patience while we work to restore supply.”
