Water supply returning to normal for customers supplied by Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant
Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section
Water supply is returning to Uisce Éireann customers on the Ardfinnan Regional Public Water Supply Scheme following the completion of repairs last night to the burst treated water main leaving the Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant.
Customers in Goatenbridge, Poulatar, Newcastle, Ballybacon, Grange, Ardfinnan, Jamestown, Marlfield, Loughryan, Loughloher, Loughtally, Derrygrath, Rathkeevin, Inishlounaght, Nicholastown, Knocklofty, Castlegrace and the surrounding areas were impacted by the burst.
Typically, it can take three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all properties after an unplanned outage. Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer restoration times as the system recharges.
Uisce Éireann’s Pierce Faherty said: “We acknowledge the impact of unplanned interruptions to the water supply on homes and businesses and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while crews worked to repair the significant burst and restore water to impacted customers.”
Uisce Éireann continues to appeal to customers on the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply to be mindful of their water usage and to make all efforts to conserve water where possible.
